This reminds me, a couple semesters ago, I had decided to take Women’s & Gender Studies as a minor in college, and my rat bastard friends said a TON of shit about me and the minor, I said it’s about equality, and one of my best friends said, quote, Why the fuck do you want to fight for their rights? Are you coming out to me right now? Are you fucking gay?” I was very close to driving back into town (I was on my way home from college) and beating the ever living fuck out of him, AGAIN. However, after I took a class “Feminist Political Thought”, I was more ashamed of my SCHOOL for not giving their department more than $4,000 of funding, so the teachers and students weren’t teaching from books from the 1970s. I also dropped the minor, because the teacher was very fire & brimstone feminism- because I’m a guy. I know feminism is about equality, so why does it matter that I am a guy, and every answer I say is wrong, even if they’ve came from the book or followed your assignment to a tee… that’s not feminism, that domination. I got a 7 on a paper, out of 15 on a paper a female political leader, and instead of going for what I do know, I challenged to go for someone of the opposite party. I went for Sarah Palin. Using two sources, I was to decide whether or not the news media was gender bias towards Sarah Palin, however, only based on the two sources, I was not allowed more, nor was I allowed from experience, or memory. I commended USA Today and the NY Times for NOT being gender bias, as I knew other sources had been. Based on the two articles, I had pointed out the only minor gender bias I could find, was that they called her Ms. Palin, constantly in one of the articles- it was from 2010, so it wasn’t like she was divorced or anything at the time. Our next paper, was about whether we would support or oppose surrogate rights and compensation in the Unicameral (as a state senator of Nebraska). I said right of front, that I do not believe it is my place to tell anyone what they should or should not do with their body. If I was asked of I am pro-life or pro-choice, I have always said that I am male, and I will not decide what a female can or cannot do with their body. Even if it was my fiance, and our baby. Whatever my fiance would decide, I would support her in her decision, because I know it would be very difficult to decide whether or not to have an abortion. I’ve had people say that I have made a decision by abstaining from making a decision- no, I haven’t. DO NOT PUT WORDS OR MEANING WHICH I HAVE NOT SPECIFICALLY STATED. But in any case, I dropped the class after that Sarah Palin paper- because, I do not have a bad paper to my name. So I knew, this class was going to be a up hill battle from the word go. I ending up hypothetically supporting a law allowing surrogate rights and compensation, just so you know, even though I abstain from making decisions about another person’s body. But, I did not stick around to find out what I got on the paper… I should ask the teacher someday about it…
